  Great place. When the big box store does not stock things because it is "not the right season", Grosse Ile Hardware typically has it. For example, my family and I bought a house on Grosse Ile in August 2017. My wife asked me to buy a garden hose for the backyard. The reason why is my wife wanted to use the hose to wash the outside Windows. The first place I checked was the Home Depot in Woodhaven. Even though it was still 70 degrees out, the did not have any garden hoses available for purchase. They did have snow shovels and snow blowers however. Since I was in the area I drove over to Wal Mart and they also did not have any garden hoses on stock. I drove back to Grosse Ile and on a hunch decided to see if Grosse Ile Hardware had any garden hoses in stock. To my surprise they had two or three different types of garden hoses available. When it comes to convenience, availability and likelihood to find "out of season" items, Grosse Ile Hardware is the clear winner of downriver hardware stores.

  This place is amazing. Friendly helpful staff that is actually knowledgeable. They have a gun counter as well. Your would be surprised to see how much they carry. Way better than home box stores for most everyday hardware items.
